Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital
The death of a Hollister child in 1902 caused repercussions that are still being felt here a century later.
Nine year old Hazel Hawkins died from an appendicitis. The tragic death of Mr. T. S. Hawkins’ grand-daughter — his “Little Sunshine” — led him to make a public commitment that no other member of this community would have to die for lack of adequate health facilities.
Jerold Phelps Community Hospital
SHCHD operates a small acute care district hospital, Jerold Phelps Community Hospital, in southern Humboldt County. In some form, healthcare has been offered to the people of this community on this location since 1949. The community hospital itself was formed in 1960, which eventually led to the formation of the Healthcare District in 1980.

Mee Memorial Healthcare System
World War II had yet begun, when in 1941 the first full-fledged hospital opened in King City because of the tenacity and dedication of a small cadre of physicians, led by Dr. L.M. Andrus. This 22-bed, single-story facility on Broadway (where King City True Value Hardware is now located), was known as the Southern Monterey County Memorial Hospital. During its more than 20-year existence, it was the place where thousands of babies were born and hundreds of lives saved. It was a small town hospital and greatly appreciated by its residents.
Mendocino Coast District Hospital
Mendocino Coast District Hospital is a JCAHO accredited medical facility serving a district which encompasses the coastal corridor from Elk to Westport in Mendocino County, California. M.C.D.H. is the “sole provider” of hospital services for the region, providing emergency and primary care, and assisting with preventive and rehabilitation services.
Mercy Medical Center, Mt. Shasta
Mercy Mt. Shasta is a facility comprised of acute care beds,a long-term care skilled nursing unit, and additional ancillary services. We are a member of Catholic Healthcare West (CHW), a system of hospitals and care facilities. Mercy Mt. Shasta is sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy Auburn, along with Mercy Medical Center Redding and St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Red Bluff.
Modoc Medical Center
Modoc Medical Center has been serving Modoc County since the early part of the 1900’s and has been in its present building since 1951. The Center is a County health care facility, which provides a full complement of services ranging from general acute care to skilled nursing to outpatient diagnostic services.
Northern Inyo Hospital
Northern Inyo Hospital is a small 25-bed critical access not-for-profit district hospital in scenic Bishop, California. Accredited by the Joint Commission, Northern Inyo Hospital has been providing high quality healthcare in the Eastern Sierra since 1946. Northern Inyo Hospital is a full service critical access hospital including 24-hour emergency care services.
Healdsburg District Hospital
Healdsburg District Hospital serves the approximately 50,000 residents that live in North Sonoma County, which includes the towns of Windsor and Geyserville, and the cities of Healdsburg and Cloverdale, and the surrounding unincorporated areas.
Ojai Valley Community Hospital
Ojai Valley Community Hospital (OVCH), built in 1960, is a 91-bed facility, including 25-bed Critical Access Hospital and 66-bed Skilled Nursing Facility. It serves over 35,000 residents of the Ojai Valley providing inpatient and outpatient care, skilled nursing services, and a 24-hour standby Emergency Room. OVCH is licensed by the California Department of Health Services and has met the stringent requirements for full accreditation by DNV.
Orchard Hospital
Located in Gridley, Orchard Hospital is a 45 bed Critical Access Hospital serving the communities of Biggs, Gridley, Richvale and Live Oak.

Plumas District Hospital
Plumas District Hospital is your source for the best health care in the county.
PDH traces its roots back to 1955, when a group of residents formed the Plumas Hospital District. The purpose was to build a state-of-the-art medical care facility to serve Plumas County’s population.
In 1959, PDH opened its doors with 25 beds, 14 staff and 5 registered nurses. Then in the mid-1960s, an addition was built to house new equipment. Ambulance service was added in the mid-70s. The Plumas Community Clinic opened in 1988.
Redwood Memorial Hospital

Ridgecrest Regional Hospital
Ridgecrest Regional Hospital (RRH) is located in Ridgecrest, CA, which is just east of the Southern Sierra Mountain Ranges in the Indian Wells Valley. We are a full service, acute care hospital, certified by DNV Healthcare, the State Department of Health Services, and the California Medical Association. We are licensed to operate by the State of California. RRH is a nonprofit community organization governed by a Board of Directors. The staff at RRH consider it a privilege to serve the people of the Southern Sierra Region.
San Bernardino Mountains Community Hospital District
Mountains Community Hospital is a full-service hospital with 17 medical/surgical beds, a 24-hour emergency department, a heliport, 18 extended care and recovery beds, full laboratory and radiology facilities and two surgical suites.

Seneca Healthcare District
Seneca Healthcare District was established in 1952 to meet the healthcare needs of the area residents. Seneca Healthcare District, a public general acute care facility, receives tax support and is a political subdivision of the State of California. The existing hospital began operation in 1954. Much of the original acute care structure is still in use today.
Southern Inyo Healthcare District
Southern Inyo Local Healthcare District is dedicated to maintaining and improving health of residents and visitors of the District through a coordinated health program, including acute inpatient and outpatient services, skilled nursing, education, referral services, and recruitment of health care personnel, with the support of the Citizens in Support of Southern Inyo Hospital, the Inyo County Supervisors, and the voters within the Southern Inyo Healthcare District boundaries.

St. Helena Hospital Clearlake, part of the Adventist Health System, is a Critical Access Hospital serving the communities of Middletown, Hidden Valley, Cobb, Lower Lake, Kelseyville, Clearlake and Clearlake Oaks.

Sutter Lakeside Hospital
Sutter Lakeside Hospital was founded in 1945 as a 30-bed private facility called Lakeside Community Hospital. The hospital was donated to the community in 1966 and a non-profit corporation was formed. In 1992 the hospital affiliated with Sutter Health and changed its name to Sutter Lakeside Hospital.
Tahoe Forest Hospital District
Proudly serving the community since 1952, Tahoe Forest Hospital is a not for profit rural health care facility and designated Critical Access Hospital. It is fully accredited by the Healthcare Accreditation Facilities Program and licensed by the State of California Department of Health Services. Tahoe Forest Hospital has 25 acute care beds and 37 long-term care beds.
Tehachapi Valley Healthcare District
Tehachapi Valley Healthcare District, which is comprised of the 24-bed Tehachapi Hospital and 3 rural health clinics, located in California City, Mojave, and Tehachapi has been serving the residents of the Tehachapi area for over 50 years.
